I love the sparks. But it irritated me to no end that she wouldn't stand up to her family right from the start. No means no, and she just lets her parents dictate her actions. This made me so mad!! Also, nobody listens to anybody, even when they state, unequivocally, they are NOT interested, or are NOT marrying so and so...so annoying!!😣🙄 Since this is the basis for the entire plot, I would give it 3 stars. However, it did have a happy ending, which I always love. So I gave it 4.

Starr is so mad at the moment she could hit something/someone, so she does. Who does this guy think he is? She's now wearing a hamburger, cheese nachos and a coke, all over her white sequined shirt, all because he had to catch a football? Give me a break! So she yells at him and because he doesn't seem sorry, she punches him in the gut and walks away! Riker is impressed with the red headed siren! Then he watches her as she barrel races and has an impressive time! Reminded him of his mother! 😊 When they announce her time and name, he knows he has to meet her and get to know her much to Trisha's disappointment. She's trying to figure out a way to get him to notice her again and start dating again hopefully. Just because she broke it off all those years ago when they went to college, surely he will forgive her and want to start dating seriously again! Only Riker seems to only have eyes for one person and only one person and it's not her! Will he and Starr have a better start? Or will first impressions be their downfall? Also, what is Starr hiding? Will he be able to get past it when it comes to light? Only one way to find out, read this great story by Jennifer Youngblood.

I loved reading this book. It was a wonderfully romantic story that I could not put down, reading it all in one day. Emerson is the daughter of a rich family. Finley is also from a rich family and they have pushed together since childhood and will soon announce their engagement. The only snag in the plan is that Emerson does not love Emerson and has refused to marry him despite her mother and father demanding it. Enter Riker a handsome, very likeable quaterback for the Titans. Emerson doing barrel jumping behind her parents back using Starr as an alias. Starr and Riker met at the arena and are instantly attracted to each other. The suspense of whether Emerson/Starr will end up with Finley or Riker is what holds this book together. If you like romance and conflict then this is the perfect book for you.

Sweet, clean romance. I liked the story but more than one time I wanted to scream at some of the characters especially Emerson. She really needed to pack her bags. But staying made for an exciting climax so it was necessary for the plot. I am not really sure that I liked everything in the epilogue. I fear Emerson will fall into her parents clutches again. I don't see how she can ever trust them again. I thought Riker was a fun hero but I was surprised how easily things worked out for his family. I mean it wasn't easy but it was a big about face that happened quickly.

Violence: one punch in the gut but it isn't exactly what you'd expect.
