A story of a path to redemption for him and with Ava maybe a new love, and a life once again. Good story .

A sweet, clean novella filled with all the woes of life that can be changed through the miracle of true belief and the giving of yourself to others. Beckett, Ava and Jazzie are very compelling characters and the plot was very enjoyable. This was a great story of turning your life around and making the most of it. It was great that Beckett was able to rise above his troubles and make something out of his life, without forgetting about where he came from. I love how Ava fit into the whole story. Jennifer Youngblood writes wonderful stories, and this is just another one of her great novels.

This is a thoroughly enjoyable and intriguing story. Beckett, once an executive, loses everything and lives in the streets. Many unexplainable events take place of which one, a car accident, changes his life yet again. When Ava comes into Beckett's life, nothing could have been better, but as everything else in his life, it doesn't last. A mysterious old woman, a jealous rival, a half-time story begin to unravel Beckett's holds for His future. Overcoming addictions, homelessness, broken trust, and great loss, life can go on and get better. Turning to God in moments of weakness will get us through and where we need to be. Just a note: This is a clean romance. If you were expecting hot sexy times, that's not going to happen here. They kiss, though, if that helps.

The story itself was a redemption story. Beckett was a high-powered stockbroker, and after some poor performance at work, the stress got to him and he started drinking. One afternoon he drives his daughter somewhere while under the influence, and wrecks the car as well as his daughter's ankle and his marriage. When the story opens, he is homeless, a drunk living on the streets.

After a time jump, we see Backett living as a firefighter/medic (through a series of events that affect the plot later on). This is where the romance starts.

Ava is the woman who comes into Beckett's life, but she has a secret.

The story was sweet, and they were were good for each other. Beckett's daughter was funny, and she was also a typical pre-teen, which was nice to see (a lot of teenagers in romance novels are strangely grown-up).

I felt like the ending (the combination of careers Becket ended up with) was a little unrealistic, but I guess that's why this is fiction. I enjoyed this story, even though I don't typically like clean romances (especially when there's a strong religious element). However, if you like an inspirational type of story, I recommend this one for a sweet Christmas story.

In addition, concern for other people and desire to help also play a big part in this book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it.
